Allen East's first NWC Champship

              November 6 , 1967

For the second straight year, the Allen East Mustangs

found themselves in the championship football game

of the Northwest Conference, but this year they completely

reversed the script.  The Mustangs scored in the 2nd

quarter and added the clincher in the final stanza here

Monday night to whip the Bulldogs of Elida, 12 - 6, and

capture the Northwest Conference title for the first time

in their brief history.

To heighten the suspense even more, Monday's game was

postponed from last Friday night because of the heavy rains.
